Showcase Artifact 1

When I arrived at IU Indianapolis in the fall of 2022 for my freshman year, I was a scared introverted person who thought I was only barely accepted into the Honors College. I was ready to explore all the opportunities that were available to me but had no idea how to go about that. I was only just starting to get into true ASL interpreting and had to apply to the program. Looking back now, I can see just how much I have changed and grown into the person I am today.

HON-200 Statement

I am someone who wants to help others. I am someone who always gravitates towards a leader

HON-496 Statement

Looking back on myself from freshman year to now, I am proud of the person I have become. Taking a look at my "I want to become" statement, I have achieved every goal I set for myself. I also noticed that I was focused on the here and now immediate future goals. Now I am motivated for the rest of my life.

Since writing this statement, I have been accepted into my program and am about to graduate. I have also made the most of my time here at IU Indianapolis. I studied abroad in Costa Rica, became an RA for 3 years, held two e-board positions, and made friends for life. I have learned how to work well with others and to network to afford myself even more opportunities.

I am confident that through everything I have experienced in my 4 years at college, I will be successful in post-grad life. My honors journey has taught me valuable lessons that extend outside the classroom. I will use what I have learned to become the best version of myself. I will strive to become a contributable member of society.
